Cannonball & A Broken Vase

For my birthday - and/or to make recompense for skipping town on the actual anniversary of my birth - Noah took me to the Damien Rice concert in Orem. It was a great show, he sounds AMAZING live! The "Cannonball" track on one of our mixes is pretty much worn out thanks to my over-extensive playing, so naturally I was holding my breath waiting for him to play it. He did not. Then he came back out for the obligatory encore (I think maybe encores are losing their charm) and still - nothing. Finally, as the very last piece, he gave us what we were all waiting for. Damien, you tease, you.

Before the concert, we had time for a little birthday shopping, so I picked up few sweaters (LOVE fall!) and a vase to go in the bathroom - because THIS one decided to protest the small counter space it was allotted and threw itself to its death earlier that morning.

Noah wasn't as torn up about the loss as I was - apparently he wasn't so attached to a vase that came with flowers from an old high school flame.

He is good, isn't he? Ya know, Switchfoot did that same faux encore thing. They played "Dare you to move." Of course they have to play that song, so of course they encore. it's so tricky. Ps. I was in DC last weekend. Ah, Developement associates...

I think Al is trying to suffocate me with cuteness in our apartment until I confess and say I like it. You should see the size of the vase she bought to replace the one in the bathroom.

I am so glad you put a vase out even though the couterspace is limited.-- that shows a true decor girl, and those are the kind of girls I adore.
We would LOVE to meet up for dinner sometime. Please keep in contact and we'll do the same. ;)

PS Do you think we can get Kami hitched and bring her back to UT?

Hi Rileys! I was so excited to see that you have a blog. We have so missed our brother Noah but now we at least get to glimpse your life. Noah boy, you HAVE to bring Allison down! We are dying to get to know her. We know that anyone willing to put up with you HAS to be pretty special! You are welcome anytime!

Poor Noah. For your birthday I'm buying you some sort of stand for the bathroom. So what SHOULD be on a bathroom counter has a home. Would it fit in there?

Love you, Al! And all your decor choices. You know that. You've loved me through it all, even the Noah's Ark earrings and 10 Commandments necklace. Yikes.

We actually painted and distressed (off-white, like mom's kitchen cabinets) that little table Grandma Furniss used to have on their picture wall in Pocatello. It's the perfect fit in our tiny little bathroom! And the new, larger vase rests comfortably on its roomy ledge.
