My Dad would be so disappointed in me for not having a guest book. Because March was a great month for visitors.
My TSG co-worker, Dan, and his adorable wife, Emi, came to the Big Apple a few weeks and we happily threw out the welcome mat. If you're fortunate to know this dynamic duo, you know Dan is hilarious and will always have you laughing and the lovely Emi is super-hip and looks like she belongs on a runway. So we spent the weekend laughing, feeling chic by association and feeling short :).
As part of their visit, Dan contributed a few guest posts to DottingTheMap.com, so he snagged four free VIP tickets to visit Liberty Island and Ellis Island. I was giddy when they suggested it - Noah and I haven't been out there yet, and we were eager to go. It was incredible! I just wish we would have better anticipated the amount of time we'd want to spend there - we caught the last ferry back to Manhattan and still had lots more we would have loved to see and learn.
We found a delicious hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant (finally!) for dinner that evening, and while we ate we talked about what to make for dinner the next night (for, what is a meal except a forum to plan the next meal?). We were just a few blocks from several Oriental markets, so decided to pick up ingredients for curry and gyoza. You know the gyoza is going to rock your socks when you ask Emi what we need for them and she can list the ingredients without batting an eye.
Their trip was far too short - anyone who feeds me well in my own home is a keeper! - but we loved having the Sorensens here. Thanks for visiting!

Hey this is Britt Shepherd! I just found your blog through other people's blogs and thought I'd give ya shout! We move in like two weeks! We're way excited! We'll call ya to get together for sunday dinner or something when we get out there!
every time i read your blog i wish that you would invite us to your house with all your fun activities. just a wish. i would never accept such an offer. i just couldn't put someone through that.
i also have something to tell you that hopefully doesn't sound terrible. i think with all your miles of walking each day your face has shrunken. i can't tell about the rest of your body, but you are looking super slim. i didn't want that to sound terrible because you were not unslim before, i am just noticing it in the pictures, that's all.
sorry to go on and on.
Hey! Your life in NYC is so dreamy. I'm glad you got a chance to meet Lisa T, she is one of my favorite people in the world. Small world!
Looks like you were trying to sneak a peek up ol' Lady Liberty's skirt!
Wait, you finally found a hole-in-the-wall chinese restaurant or just finally went into one? I mean, this is NY. They're nearly as prominent as Starbucks.
It's nice to see "real New Yorkers" doing things the lame torist do :) P.S. I love the header on your blog. You are so creative.
This is the Dan, yes, the one from this post. I would highly recommend to any of you to go visit the Rileys. They are the best hosts in the world!
And those air mattresses they have are the most comfy air mattresses I have ever slept on. Final!
Sounds like fun! And yeah- Ellis Island is one of those places where it always feels like you barely scratch the surface. Handy that you'll probably have PLENTY of guests who want to go back !
JUST read your post..........you are quite the blogger! :) Truly our NYC trip was unbelievably wonderful thanks to you two!!! When, oh when, may we return?
