REALLY the Rileys

I swear sometimes I'm pretty decent at my job.

At other times, not so much.

I just pulled up some coverage that our client received and noticed the reporter quoted me as part of the article.

(Ah, crap... I was trying to add a scanned image of the article. You'll just have to trust me that this really was in print.)

"This project was really one that was so worthwhile and really felt like it was one the foundation could really support... It's a really great all-encompassing project that really meets the ideals and goals of this foundation," said Allison Riley, representative.

Were you counting?! Really, Allison?! I think I just brought new meaning to the name of our blog...

Forgive me for cutting off the quote before it mentioned the organization's name. I hated to mar their good name even further.

At least there's only, like, one 'like', you know? And you didn't even, like, use it in the annoying way! :) Remember how dad would get on our case for using that word too much? Maybe it was just my problem...

Ew, I say shame on the reporter! He/she totally knew what he/she was doing.

Eloquence always misses me, too.

Isn't a rule of journalism that you can change quotes a bit to take out the "likes" and "reallys?" Thanks for the help, reporter.

Oh dear friend, I'm pretty sure it happens to everyone. Not to minimize the... thrill of seeing yourself in print with such brilliance :) Fortunately we all know that you are, in fact, quite eloquent. Really.

You're still the most eloquent person I know!

Oh, I could never do your job! The thought of some of the things I say being printed to be scrutinized is scary! I'm sure no one would have given it a second thought... except you :)

Hilarious. But, I still really like you.
